SOCCER TOURNAMENT RULES
All games will be played according to the following rules, except as otherwise indicated below:
1. Game Length:
· U6: Four (4) ten minute quarters
· U8: Four (2) twenty minute halves
· U10: Two (2) twenty five minute halves
· U12: Two (2) twenty five minute halves
· U14: Two (2) twenty five minute halves
2. Game Format:
· U6: 5 vs 5 (No Goalkeeper)
· U8: 7 vs 7 (Including Goalkeeper)
· U10: 7 vs 7 (Including Goalkeeper)
· U12: 7 vs 7 (Including Goalkeeper)
· U14: 7 vs 7 (Including Goalkeeper)
3. Number of players in each team.
Each team must have at least the minimum in the game format to participate and a maximum of:
U6: 5 vs 5 (maximum 10 players)
U8: 7 vs 7 (maximum 14 players)
U10: 7 vs 7 (maximum 14 players)
U12: 7 vs 7 (maximum 15 players)
U14: 7 vs 7 (maximum 15 players)
4. Ball Size:
· U6: Size 3
· U8: Size 4
· U10: Size 4
· U12: Size 5
· U14: Size 5
4. All games have a (2) minute half time. There is no overtime.
5. Coaches and players should be at the field at least 30 minutes before game time. Games will start promptly at the scheduled times. If for whatever reason a game is delayed beyond the starting time, the length of the delay will be subtracted from the total playing time. Games are only forfeited after 10 minutes of the start time if a team does not have the minimum players as required. A shortened game will be played if the team is late. Our goal is to give the players that are present an opportunity to play.
6. If there are fewer than the required # of players at the time the game is to start, the following shall be done to start the game on time:
· Start with an equal number of players including the goalkeeper (3v3, 4v4, 5v5) which can be fielded by the team with the fewest players. (This will only be enforced during regular schedule games and not during tournament play-offs in any group division)
· 3 players in U6.
· 5 players including the goalkeeper in U8, U10, U12, U14.
· As the players arrive they may be inserted into the game until the correct number of players are all on the field.
· Exception: this rule does not apply to any group division during the tournament playoffs.
7. Every child must wear a complete uniform, shin guards and Soccer shoes otherwise the player will not be able to participate in the game.
8. Coaches are not permitted on the field during a game and only one referee is permitted on the field. Coaches are not allowed in the penalty area. (Parents are not permitted on the field)
9. Off–sides will be enforced in the U12 & U14 group divisions.
10. Substitution Rule for U8 and U10 group divisions:
Players may be substituted only when the Referee has stopped play. Substitutions are unlimited. Substitutions may be made at the following times and requires the official’s permission:
· By the offensive team prior to a throw-in the team's favor.
· Prior to a goal kick, by either team.
· After an injury, by either team, when the Referee has stopped play.
· Between periods and after a goal is scored by either team.
· When the penalty kick is to be made in U6 the kick will be made from the middle of the field there will be no goalkeeper. Substitutions for the goalkeeper may not be made on penalty kicks. The goalkeeper that was in the goal at the time of the infraction must face the penalty kick.
11. Only two registered coaches can be on the sideline with the team. All others must sit or stand on the opposite side of the field at least 3 feet from the sideline. Parents, Coaches, and spectators are not permitted near the goal area.
12. Officials will be scheduled for all divisions. Coaches may not question official’s calls during or after a game. Coaches may only give technical instruction to their players. If a red card is given and a player is ejected, the player will be suspended for the next game.
13. Birth Certificates and Picture:
Each academy must turn in to the Director of the tournament a week before the first game, a copy of the birth certificate and a passport size picture attached to the ID card for each one of the players so the director can check the date of birth of each player and sign the ID cards, and an official roster with each of the players with their date of birth, and uniform number. Every week at the games each coach has to show the IDs to the referee before the game starts.
14. Director or coach who places a player in the wrong division the player will automatically be taken out of the game, the team will lose the game and the opposing team will receive the 3 points.
NOTE: All coaches are responsible for the CONDUCT/LANGUAGE of their players, parents, and spectators. All coaches are to emphasize fair play and sportsmanship.
